RIHousing recently held its Spring Homebuying Breakfast, an annual
event to recognize its top partners for their contributions.
“A healthy housing market is essential to the overall
economic prosperity of our state, and we are thrilled to announce that 2016 was
RIHousing’s strongest year ever, with an all-time annual record of 1,625 first
mortgages funded,” said Barbara Fields, Executive Director of Rhode Island
Housing. “This exceeds our previous high in 2007 and clearly shows that Rhode
Island’s housing market has finally rebounded from the crash.”
Keynote speaker Laurie Aquilante, head of HubSpot’s North
America Funnel Marketing Team, shared marketing insights with the crowd of more
than 350 lenders and realtors including how much social media has changed the
homebuying process.
Coastway Community Bank was recognized with the 2016
Participating Lender of the Year award for its work supporting first-time
homebuyers. In 2016, Coastway produced 324 Rhode Island Housing first
mortgages, an increase of over 63% from 2015. In addition, Coastway was named
