RIHousing Hires Energy Specialist

Brigid Ryan
RIHousing is pleased to welcome Brigid Ryan to the team. Brigid will serve as the agency’s first-ever Energy Specialist.

Brigid will oversee RIHousing's sustainability/energy efficiency activities and assist with the development and strategic planning of new energy initiatives.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brigid to our team,” said Eric Shorter, RIHousing Director of Development. “Her extensive experience in energy and real estate will be an invaluable resource in our continued efforts to promote energy affordability through our energy efficiency programs.”

Brigid has over 17 years of experience in housing and energy efficiency. Most recently she served as the Local Director for Emerald Cities Rhode Island, a start-up energy retrofit program that aims to reduce environmental impacts while creating equitable access to careers for community residents. She also serves as a Coalition Chair for EnergizeRI, a coalition formed to pass carbon pricing legislation.

Prior to her role at Emerald Cities Rhode Island, Brigid worked as Deputy Director for the Church Community Housing Corporation, a non-profit located in Newport dedicated to developing affordable housing.
